Exodus 20,3-6

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy GOD am a jealous GOD, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

 

 

The Bible teaches that there is one GOD and that we should worship Him alone. This categorically excludes the worship of other "gods" (which, in truth, do not exist). This one true GOD reveals Himself to us in His Word, the Bible. Anyone who does not believe in this GOD or worships false gods (= idols) or proclaims a GOD other than the one in the Holy Scriptures, does not belong to GOD.

Matthew 7,21

​​

21 “Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord", will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

The Bible teaches that only those who do the will of GOD, as proclaimed to us by Jesus Christ and His apostles in the New Testament, can be saved. Confession of faith in Jesus alone is not enough.

John 1,12 f.

12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of GOD (...).

 

 

The Bible teaches that only those who believe in the name of Jesus Christ may be called children of GOD. Anyone who does not believe in Jesus and does not follow his teachings is therefore not a child of GOD.

John 3,16

​ 

16 For GOD so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

 

 

 

John 3,36

​ 

36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for GOD’s wrath remains on them.

​

The Bible teaches that only faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of GOD, can bring salvation and eternal life. Anyone who is unwilling to follow Jesus will be struck by GOD's wrath and excluded from eternal life.

Acts 4,12

​

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

Acts 16,30 f.

​

30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

The Bible teaches unequivocally that salvation lies in no one other than Jesus.

Romans 8,9 + 14

​

9 And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. (...) 14 For those who are led by the Spirit of GOD are the children of GOD.

​

 

The Bible teaches that only those who have Christ's Spirit (the Holy Spirit) and allow themselves to be guided by Him in their actions belong to Christ. Only those who believe in Jesus Christ receive the Holy Spirit.

Romans 10,9-13

 

9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that GOD raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11  As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13  for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

 

The Bible teaches that only those who confess Jesus as their Lord and believe that GOD raised them from the dead will be saved.

1st Corinthians 16,22

 

22 If anyone does not love the Lord, let that person be cursed!

​

Galatians 1,8 f.

 

8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under GOD’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under GOD’s curse!

 

The Bible teaches that anyone who does not believe the gospel will perish, and that anyone who deliberately preaches a message of salvation other than the one presented in the New Testament will be cursed by GOD.

1st John 2,21-24

 

21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. 24 As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.

 

The Bible teaches that anyone who does not believe in Jesus, the Son of GOD, will not be accepted by GOD.

1st John 4,2 f.

 

2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of GOD: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from GOD, 3  but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from GOD.

 

The Bible teaches that anyone who does not confess Jesus does not belong to GOD.

1st John 4,6

 

6 We are from GOD, and whoever knows GOD listens to us; but whoever is not from GOD does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

 

 

The Bible teaches that anyone who does not follow the teaching of the apostles who proclaimed the truth about GOD does not belong to GOD because he is in error.

1st John 5,9-12

 

9 We accept human testimony, but GOD’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of GOD, which He has given about His Son. 10 Whoever believes in the Son of GOD accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe GOD has made Him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony GOD has given about His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: GOD has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of GOD does not have life. 

​

 

The Bible teaches that eternal life is linked to faith in Jesus. Therefore, anyone who does not believe in the Son of GOD cannot receive eternal life.
