Questions to think about

1)

How many clear statements from the Bible can you think of that literally refer to the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as "ONE GOD"? And how many statements do you know where only the Father is referred to as GOD?

2)

Have you ever tried to read the Bible without a Trinitarian understanding or to understand the often cited “proof texts” for the Trinity in a non-Trinitarian way?

3)

If you were to rewrite the Bible from a Trinitarian perspective, how would you word statements about GOD and Jesus? Would you use similar wording to the apostolic authors or others? Why?

4)

How would you introduce Jesus to people today? Would you use words similar to those used by the apostles in Acts or others? Why?

5)

If the Trinity is a clearly biblical doctrine, why do you think it took nearly four centuries to formulate it as a confession?

6)

Why is there no statement in the New Testament “Praise be to our GOD, Jesus Christ” or “Praise be to the triune GOD”?

7)

Why is there no statement in the Bible that says literally (without paraphrases) that 'GOD became man'?

8)

If none of the three evangelists Matthew, Mark, and Luke portray Jesus as GOD, why do you think John would do this in his gospel?

9)

If the doctrine of the Trinity or the deity of Jesus represents a truth of the Bible that is decisive for salvation, why do you think that GOD did not allow this - like many other truths - to be unmistakably witnessed in the Bible?

10)

If the Father, who is God in the fullest sense, is greater than and above Jesus - as the New Testament testifies - why do you worship as GOD a being who is not God in the fullest sense?

11)

Why do we use phrases like “Trinity”, “GOD the Son”, “GOD-Man” or “Eternal Son” if these are not found in the New Testament?

12)

How can it be that thousands of people were converted to GOD through the sermons of the first apostles, even though none of them proclaimed Jesus as GOD?

13)

Where does it say in the Bible that Jesus Christ could only have redeemed humanity if he himself was GOD?

14)

Where does it say in the Bible that believers who do not believe in the Trinity or do not confess that Jesus is GOD or question his alleged eternal pre-existence are not Christians or false teachers and are lost?

15)

How can the exclusionary and condemning behavior of Trinitarians towards those who, according to Holy Scripture, confess the Father as the only true GOD and Jesus as the Son of GOD be justified?

16)

What interest could the devil have in Christians not only seeing Jesus as their Lord and brother, but also worshiping him as a (second) GOD?
