The Love Theory

GOD is love. Love is selfless. For GOD to be capable of love, according to the logic of some Trinitarians, He must consist of more than one person. For if GOD were absolutely One, He would supposedly be incapable of love. There are several aspects that speak against this claim:

1. This theory is purely philosophical, but by no means biblical. Furthermore, the basic idea behind this theory played no role in the early church. Rather, it is a relatively new concept, and one that is not shared by all Trinitarians.

2. GOD is perfect. There is nothing that limits GOD; otherwise, He would not be GOD. Likewise, there is nothing GOD needs, since GOD has everything of Himself. GOD has no need to love or to be loved.

3. Love is primarily an attitude expressed in a person's actions. The reason GOD created the universe and humanity was to share His love; not because He felt lonely. The fact that GOD was alone before creating universe does not mean He was incapable of love.
